Teen Thay Bhai: Music

Music: Sukhwinder Singh, Ranjit Barot
Lyrics: Gulzar

 1. Pigeon-Kabootar (04:02)
Singer: Daler Mehndi
This is the title track which gives some idea about the movie that has Teen Bhai who comes across a situation of Do or Daai! And the movie may be comic as says the lyrics, "Pigeon Kabootar, Parrot Totah.. Teeja Titali Butterflaai". The genre is Pop (song video more of Indipop) with some Bhangra beats and harmonium.

2. Chakkar Chakkar (04:12)
Singer: Sukhwinder Singh
Starts with a sorrow ridden shennai, that hints of giving a melodrama on screen. Propels with some loud thumping beats and old music samples. The shennai again from 01:34 to 01:41 seems derived from that used in Nayak and Mangal Pandey by A R Rahman. Lyrics aren't that special. Not-so-new song.

3. Mein Chalna Bhool Gaya (04:33)
Singer: Mohit Chauhan
An Amit Trivedi-ish start. Mohit renders well for this track. The English part by the female doesn't suits much but the other backing gives a Rahmanisque feel. Though arranged and composed well, the level of this track doesn't rise much. The only thing that makes this song for a repeat is the Sitar.

4. Aar Dariya (04:35)
Singer: Sukhwinder Singh
Sukhwinder, the composer and also the singer of this album offers the full-flavoured sweet track of the album with this Punjabi Folk. The track could have ripen to the fullest if some desi style of composition would have replaced the synthesisers in the interludes.

5. Teen Thay Bhai-Full Mood Mein (04:00)
Singer: Daler Mehndi
Daler Mehndi popular for his Punjabi Pop also masters Ghazals. I think he is showing it off here. Not exactly a Ghazal, but similar compositon that can be enjoyed in a mehfil.

6. Bhai Ke Chakkar-Fultu Mix (03:46)
Remixed by: Ranjit Barot
Why this has to be remixed? And in such an uninteresting way. Neither apts for dance floor nor ears. Waste.

7. Pigeon Kabootar-Full On Mix (04:45)
Remixed by: Ranjit Barot
This track has 3 versions in a single album and this is the dullest with all kind of  poor rap in it.

Ranjit Barot has some good music arrangement experience but here he seems to just spoil the album with 2 poor remixes. Sukhwinder could have delivered something better with his skills as he had done some good earlier as a composer. And, lyrics are not-so-special by Gulzar Saab here. My best pick from this album will be Mohit Chauhan's Mein Chalna Bhool Gaya.
